Horse Girths for Every Saddle and Discipline

The girth is one of the most important pieces of tack you'll buy — it keeps the saddle secure, affects your horse's comfort, and can influence performance. At Solo Saddlers, we stock girths for dressage, show jumping, general purpose, and endurance riding, all from brands that South African equestrians trust.

Dressage, Jump and General Purpose Girths

Different saddles need different girths. Our range includes short dressage girths designed to sit clear of the elbow, longer girths for GP and jump saddles, and anatomically shaped options that follow the horse's natural contour. Whether you need a straight girth or a contoured cut, you'll find the right fit here.

Materials: Leather, Synthetic and Padded Options

Leather girths remain a favourite for their durability and breathability, while synthetic options offer easy care and lighter weight. We also carry padded and fleece-lined girths for horses with sensitive skin or those prone to girth galls. If your horse needs extra care in this area, a well-padded girth makes a real difference to their comfort.

Girth Sizing and Fit

Getting the right girth size is essential. Too short and you'll struggle to do it up; too long and the buckles sit awkwardly under the saddle flap. Measure from the second or third hole on one side of the saddle, under the belly, to the same point on the other side. If you're between sizes, go one size up — you can always adjust the billets.

Complete Your Saddle Setup

A girth works best as part of a well-matched setup. Browse our Saddle Pads for proper back protection, or check out Saddle Accessories for girth sleeves, elastic girth attachments, and more. If you're fitting a new saddle, explore our full Saddles collection.
