The Solo Saddlers Comfort Dressage Girth is built for everyday schooling and competition work. Specially designed with no seams or ridges to prevent chafing, with a slight stretch. Made from soft equiprene comfort material.
Key features
- No seams: prevents chafing behind the elbow, where most girth galls start.
- No elastic ends: prevents girthing too tight on the cross-ties and keeps even pressure on both sides.
- Equiprene comfort material: soft against the coat and quick to wipe clean.
- Slight stretch: moves with the horse through ribcage expansion without the lottery of full elastic.
- Wide size run: sizes 16 to 36 inches to suit ponies through to full warmbloods.
How to measure for the right size
Run a soft tape from your saddle's billet point, under the barrel, to the same spot on the opposite side. Choose the size closest to that figure. A correctly fitted girth should sit roughly a hand's width behind the elbow with the buckles level on both sides.
Built for dressage work
The short body and central D-rings keep the buckles clear of the saddle flap, so your leg stays in close contact and your aids stay quiet. Pair this girth with a dressage or general purpose saddle from our dressage and GP saddle range, or browse the full girths collection for long, short, and stud guard options. For saddling routines and accessories, see our saddle accessories.
Care
Wipe clean with a damp cloth after each ride. Equiprene is friendly to a cool machine wash inside a wash bag and air-dries quickly. Avoid direct heat or tumble drying, which can degrade the material over time.

How to measure your girth:
Girths are measured from the end of the buckle to the end of the buckle (the full length) and vary in size by 2 inches (5cm)
If you don't have a tape measure on hand you can use a piece of string to get the needed length and measure the string afterwards.
If you don't have an old girth to measure, then you can measure for a new girth by placing your numnah and saddle on your horse, and measuring from halfway up the girth point, around the tummy, to halfway up the next girth point.
You ideally want to have 2 holes adjustment up, and 1 extra hole for adjusting down on the girth points.
As a very basic rule of thumb:
14-15 hands = 42 - 44"
15-16 hands = 46 - 48" GP girth and 26" dressage girth
16-17 hands = 48 - 54"
