How It Works

Like most snaffle bits, the primary action is on the bars of the mouth. The eggbutt cheekpieces sit flush against the horse's face, preventing the bit from sliding through the mouth and eliminating lip pinches.

The elliptical link (oval lozenge) in the centre of the mouthpiece reduces the nutcracker effect found in single-jointed bits. Combined with the curved shape, this creates a comfortable, low-pressure contact that encourages the horse to accept the bit softly.
