How a Pelham Works

A Pelham combines snaffle and curb action in a single mouthpiece. The jointed mouthpiece adds a nutcracker action that gives the rider more control, and that action is magnified by the leverage of the long shanks. A Pelham must be used with a curb chain to be effective.

Rein Options

1. Two reins - giving the rider both a snaffle rein and a curb rein
2. A single rein with rein connectors - the connector attaches to the curb ring and the snaffle ring, allowing one rein to be used
3. A single rein without connectors - fitted to either the snaffle ring or the curb ring, depending on the action and amount of control needed
