How It Works

The dee shanks are longer and straighter than an eggbutt's, so the bit works more on the sides of the mouth. This gives the rider more control with steering, without the bit being able to be pulled through the mouth. The oval elliptical link is a variant of the French link, with a rounded lozenge instead of a flat spatula joining the two halves. The benefits include reduced nutcracker action, more even pressure over the bars, and independent control over both sides of the mouth.
