Cheek Protectors Rubber

Rubber bit guard that fits between the ring of the bit and the horse's cheeks to prevent pinching and rubbing.

Can also be used to provide a better fit when the bit is too wide for the horse's mouth, and can prevent the rings being pulled through the mouth.

When to Use Rubber Cheek Protectors

Rubber bit guards are essential for horses with sensitive skin around the mouth or those prone to rubs from loose-ring or full-cheek bits. They're also a practical solution when a bit is marginally too wide, adding bulk at the cheek to improve fit without needing a new bit.

How to Fit

Slide the rubber guard onto the bit ring before attaching the bridle cheekpieces. Position the guard flat against the horse's cheek so the bit ring sits centred in the opening. Check regularly for wear and replace if the rubber becomes cracked or hardened.
