Bit Lifter

The Solo Saddlers Bit Lifter is mostly used on racehorses to prevent them lifting their tongue over the bit. The action of lifting the bit reduces pressure on the horse's mouth, making it a useful training and racing aid.

How It Fits

The bit lifter attaches to the headpiece buckle, runs down the centre line of the face, and splits into two straps that clip either side of the bit rings. It holds the bit slightly higher in the mouth, discouraging the horse from working the tongue over the top.

Important Note

The bit lifter may be used in conjunction with any noseband, but please note it is not legal in a dressage test. It is commonly used in racing and general schooling.
