When to Use a Grackle Noseband

The grackle is commonly fitted in fast-paced equestrian sports where precision and control matter — including show jumping, cross country and racing. Its crossed figure-8 design applies pressure over a wider area than a standard cavesson, discouraging jaw-evasion without pinching or restricting breathing.

Fit & Breathing

When fitted correctly, the grackle noseband leaves the horse's nostrils clear so they can breathe freely during strenuous work. The upper strap should sit just below the cheekbone, the lower strap above the nostrils, with the central disc centred on the front of the nose.
