About the Blinkers
Specially designed blinkers or winkers (square pieces of leather) are attached to the cheek pieces of the bridle to keep the horse or mule focused on the path ahead and limit peripheral vision to avoid distractions. They are moulded so they do not interfere with or irritate the eyes.
