F10 Germicidal Shampoo

F10 Germicidal Treatment Shampoo is a dermatological preparation effective against bacteria and fungi as a skin treatment and to prevent re-infestation. It is an effective skin and coat treatment and controls infection.

What F10 Germicidal Shampoo treats

F10 is a vet-grade medicated shampoo widely used by South African horse owners and veterinarians to manage bacterial and fungal skin conditions:

• Bacterial skin infections (folliculitis, rain scald, mud fever)
• Fungal infections such as ringworm and dermatophytosis
• Secondary infection of broken, itchy skin, including sweet itch lesions
• Minor wound cleansing as part of broader wound care

What it does not do

This is the standard F10 Germicidal Treatment Shampoo, which contains no insecticide. It will not kill mites, lice or other external parasites, so it is not a mange treatment on its own. Where parasite control is needed, speak to your vet about an appropriate antiparasitic product. F10 may still be prescribed alongside it to manage the secondary bacterial and fungal infection that usually accompanies parasitic skin disease.

How to use

Wet the coat thoroughly, apply F10 Germicidal Shampoo and massage into a lather. Leave on for 5 to 10 minutes so the active ingredients can work, then rinse off completely. Repeat as advised by your vet, typically two to three times per week while a condition is active.
