About Tabard Equine Lotion

Developed in response to numerous requests by the equine community, Tabard Equine Lotion was approved by the regulatory authorities in 2016 and is registered as a stock remedy under Act 36 of 1947 (Reg. No. G4164). It is one of South Africa's most trusted fly repellents for horses.

DEET, the active ingredient in Tabard Equine Lotion, remains the gold standard amongst internationally proven substances that provide effective repellent protection against mosquitoes and most other insects.

How to Use

Stir before use — the lotion may separate on standing. Apply lightly, evenly and completely to the exposed areas most prone to insect irritation: neck, shoulders, belly and legs. When treating the head, apply by hand and work well clear of the eyes, nostrils and mouth. Reapply as needed, particularly during peak fly season or after washing. For full fly protection, combine with fly masks, fly sheets and good stable hygiene.

Precautions

• For external animal use only — do not apply near the eyes, to mucous membranes, to broken skin or to areas of flexion
• Keep off leather tack, synthetic materials and varnished or polished surfaces — DEET can damage them
• Not for use in horses intended to enter the human food chain
• Store below 25°C, out of direct sunlight and away from open flame
