DESCRIPTION
Crocodile-action clinching tongs designed for farriers and horse owners who shoe their own horses. The shaped plier head folds and secures nail ends after a horseshoe has been nailed on, giving a tight, neat finish against the hoof wall.
What It's For
Once a horseshoe has been driven on, the nail tip protrudes on the outside of the hoof. These tongs bend that tip flat against the hoof wall, locking the shoe in place. They are equally useful for tightening old nails that have worn loose between shoeings.
Key Features
- Crocodile-action pincer that bends and clinches nail ends closed
- Shaped plier head for clean, flush nail finishes
- Secures fresh shoeing nails and tightens worn loose nails
- Built for repeat farrier use
When to Use
Use immediately after nailing on a new shoe to finish the clinches, or any time between shoeings when a nail starts working loose. A standard part of any farrier or horse-owner's shoeing kit.
Pair these tongs with the rest of your farrier tools, or browse our full range of stable equipment and hoof care at Solo Saddlers.
