Long Shank Stainless Steel Spurs | Dressage
Stainless steel spurs with a 30mm long shank and square end — designed primarily for dressage, where precise and subtle leg aids are required. Used to reinforce your leg aids and refine communication with your horse.
How to Wear Spurs
Spurs are worn with the tip of the neck pointed downward, sitting on the spur rest of the riding boot. The buckle of the spur strap sits on the outside of the foot. They are a refinement tool, not a correction tool — never use spurs to cause pain.
Key Features
- Stainless steel — durable and corrosion-resistant
- Long shank: 30mm with a square end
- Suitable primarily for dressage riding
- Directs a horse forward or laterally
- Backs up natural leg, seat, hand and voice aids
- Pairs with standard leather or nylon spur straps
Long Shank vs Short Shank
A longer shank reaches your horse more easily when your leg is away from the body — useful for riders with long legs or short-backed horses. Short shank spurs sit closer and are often preferred by novices or for sensitive horses. Always match the shank to your leg position and your horse's response.
