DESCRIPTION
Stainless steel short shank spurs designed to reinforce and refine your leg aids in the saddle. The short 20mm shank with a square end delivers a subtle, precise cue without overstating the contact.
Key features
- Material: durable stainless steel
- Shank length: 20mm short shank with a square end
- Purpose: reinforces the rider's natural leg aid
- Best suited to refining forward and lateral movement
How to wear spurs
Spurs are worn with the tip of the neck pointed downward, sitting on the spur rest of the riding boot (where one is fitted), with the buckle of the spur strap on the outside of the foot.
What spurs are used for
Spurs are used to direct a horse to move forward or laterally while riding. They refine the riding aids and back up the natural aids: the leg, seat, hands and voice. A short shank like this one gives a clear but gentle cue, making it a sensible choice for riders developing precision.
