Loop Ends vs Buckle Ends — Which to Choose

Most racing jurisdictions require loop ends: the rein passes through a slot in the bit ring and loops back on itself, meaning there is no metal buckle that could open under pressure. This is the safer and faster option for race riding.

Buckle ends are available on request if your discipline allows them — they're easier to detach for cleaning and bit swaps, and are sometimes preferred for schooling and exercise work where rule compliance isn't required. If you're unsure, default to loop ends.
