Adds extra control to a halter
Prevents rearing
Used for stallions & strong horses
Also called a chifney bit
An anti-rearing or chifney bit clips onto your halter to give you more control when leading strong, bolshy horses and prevents rearing.
It is commonly used on stallion halters to give the handler extra control.
The straight or ported mouth piece fits into the horse's mouth and the round ring type part fits behind the chin.
The rings on the sides of the bit are attached to a halter using bit straps, and the lead is attached to the 3rd ring at the back of the bit.
It works by applying pressure to the tongue and bars of the horse's mouth, and should fit in the same position as a normal bit.
